Maxwell Transparent materials are Black

Hi there,

Just was wondering whether any others are experiencing black materials when using transparency.

When using any of the presets associated with transparent materials I get an overwhelming black material. There is slight transparency however certainly not correct. Have tried multiple environment settings, camera settings, etc. Still no luck.

Is this a bug?

Cheers

Typically, this will be due either to the geometry being unrealistically large in size, in which case most of the energy is absorbed before being able to pass through, or to the application of the material to a simple plane, rather than to closed geometry describing a volume. An example of this would be a building which uses simple planes for its windows, which basically turns the entire inside of the structure into an enormous glass block.

Hi JD,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it was a little geometry issue. A simple rebuild of the surfaces was all that was needed.
Definitely aware of the simple surface vs. closed geometry point you mentioned. Wasn't that.

Cheers cheers.
