Problems with black patches, etc.

JD,
Hello. Haven't posted in a while.
We are starting to have some major problems. We do not know if we are identifying bugs, dealing with corrupted files/programs or both. This may also be a Rhino issue only, although the behavior is affecting Maxwell, too.
In a nutshell, we are seeing three things we need to fix:
1. Our materials are not rendering in full on certain sides of our models. We find black patches that are rather randomly distributing themselves along certain surfaces. The same material may show up just fine on one side of a model, but be problematic on other faces. We have tried to systematically identify the issue by: A. creating new geometry; B. deleting and attaching new materials; C. creating fresh new files, etc.. The problem is not going away. Here are some examples, including some "test files". They should be self-explanatory, but basically all of the black patches you are seeing should be white or silver (depending on the material).
2. We are finding now that the Boolean commands are getting confused -- especially the Difference command. The command will work for a while with a given set of objects and then it will create a Union (arbitrarily) instead of a Difference. This makes the workflow very frustrating as rebuilding the geometry does not always help. This occurs with both large and small files.
3. Maxwell Render is crashing Rhino when we open it.
Thanks for your help. The sooner we can address these issues, the better.
Regards,
dsr
