camera distance

hello,
how do I know what is the distance between the object & the camera before
I send to maxwell,

to measure it exactly from within rhino, you can type:

"showcamera" , type it with having active the viewport from which you want to render.

this shows the camera icon in the viewport.
then you can either use "distance" to measure from the tip of the camera to the object or place a dimension onto an cplane which fits the direction of camera.

..alternatively and much faster, you turn on the maxwell HeadsUp Display from the maxwell camera toolbar.

then use "f.d." button and click onto the object and read top headsUp very left side: "fd: x.xxx "

that's the distance from your camera to the object.
