environment reflection

Hi JD,

A question regarding environment reflection on reflective materials. (http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... reflection) Whenever i change the offset UV parameters, the reflected material environment does not change as well. Is there some sort of work around to get the environment and its reflection matched when changing UV? Would be great if this is possible.
I noticed that when enabling material environment, the (reflection) environment flips vertically and no longer rotates with the viewport rotation in perspective view.

Eric.

Hi Eric, it's really not possible to do any of that -- if you want to know how it works, just create a sphere and edit its 'basic' Rhino material; the reflectivity you see when using the plugin is achieved by assigning a map (the same one used to generate the HDRI environment, if it is enabled, otherwise the one specified in Options > Material Environment Map) to the environment map in the Rhino material. If you do that, you'll see that the mapping always follows the camera. This may all be changing, however, in Rhino V5 -- Jeff LaSor, the Rhino viewport guy, is working on some really cool stuff there.
