Exporting to Studio via Rhino plugin: higher polys

Hi

I use Rhino purely to read in STEP files and export to Maxwell Studio. Is there away to force Rhino (or the Maxwell plugin) to export the model with more polys? On curved surfaces I still see stepping......it seems the default export setting is not high enough when exporting 3rd party geom.

I don't know Rhino at all, so a description of where to find the export settings would be appreciated :-)

Cloudman-

You can check out export under "help" to show the steps...but for refining a mesh, you should check out the McNeel wiki which discusses export options for meshes. Not sure if it will help you exporting STEP files though. I've had mixed results with reading STEP files in Rhino, I've found better results with Moi.

Here's the wiki link:

when you imported your step file, select the (curved) objects you want higher resolution, press F3 to get the object properties box, check custom mesh settings, and the click adjust>

you will get a dialog to define the mesh for those objects. check the help for the "detailed mesh settings" option, because it gives better control than the slider. btw. the values in there are unit dependent! you can look in the rhino document options page , in what units the step gets imported.
