Cloning BDSFs ?

Cloning BDSFs would be really useful when creating multi-layer materials.
Is it possible somehow, and I have overlooked it ?

Just drag the desired BSDF and hold down CTRL when you drop it - that creates a copy, rather than moving it. Same goes for layers.

No worries...imho, this is one of the paradoxes of intuitive user-interface, with regards to drag-and-drop...it can be very intuitive, but first the thought of dragging something has to occur to you. So that's one of the rules of thumb for using the plugin - when in doubt, try dragging something somewhere; it's the quickest/easiest way of importing/exporting MXM files, assigning materials, copying textures, storing and retrieving preset material components from the database manager, and so on.
