Ceiling visible but lets sun light in

Hi,
i want to make an effect, where the sun lights the indoor scene, as if there was no ceiling, while the ceiling is affected by the bounce back of the light of the sun that came unhindered inside the indoor space.

Is that possible somehow ? Like "let through 1st rays" as a mesh attribute or so ?

Regards,
Frank

Maybe I'm understanding this wrong, but it seems you can just hide the object to camera? There is a mesh attribute for that.

thx for your reply. The idea was to 100% shine through the sun-light through the ceiling object, althogh the ceiling-object is not transparent.

Then try to hide it from GI, but what are you trying to do exactly?

i'm trying to get the scene lit by the sun, just because it's convenient at this stage of the work, but still see the ceiling in an indoor setup.

So your lighting now looks like there is no ceiling, but later you want to have the ceiling back in, and have it look like there is actually a ceiling? I don't really understand why you're complicating the workflow like this.....?
