support for variation shader?

Hi JD,

is it foreseen to implement support for the variation shader of R17?

At this time, no -- it would be necessary for Maxwell to support, for example, per-object variations on the Refl0 color in a BSDF of a given material, for each object using that material. The only other way would be to detect the variation in the material, and then export a separate material for each object using it; not only would this result in some thousands of materials in the MXS, but they would all be conversions of Cinema materials, which are never very good.

yeah, thought so - just wanted to be sure as I really like using it at the moment.
