I think rendering volumetrics for animations in a separate pass is prob sensible. I expect to be sending Xparticles > turbulence > krakatoa render pass.. eventually

Why would you send X-Particles to Turbulence in the first place?
You can render Turbulence FD caches with Krakatoa natively;)

Is there a misunderstanding perhaps?

Its a pretty standard concept to generate a turbulence cache from x-particles seeds no?

Ah, yes I guess I misunderstood, well you can render X-Particles, TFD and any other Particle sources with Krakatoa;)
