Normal Maps: How to flip them in C4D...?

Hello everybody

Can anyone tell me if I have to flip normal maps in the Maxwell Material in CINEMA 4D?

For example: I want to use a normal map as a bump... to I have to flip it? If so, in X, Y or Z?

Thanks a lot
Oliver

It does not depend upon whether you're rendering from Cinema or elsewhere, but rather upon how the normal map was created, as explained here.

I see... but what if I don't know how and where it was created?
Any way to find out? Do they look different?

I am not an expert on that, so you may want to ask the question in the main forum.
