Reflection/refraction breaking up

I've just re-rendered an old job from last year without changing any settings and something strange has happened to the surface rendering. What you can see in this image is a torus-like shape with a high-grade glass material that is reflecting/refracting some white blocks that are hidden from camera. The left hand image is the original but the image from yesterday shows the white blocks are breaking up on the torus. I haven't changed any settings so this is a puzzle to me.

I'm not sure which versions of Maxwell, Cinema and the plug-in I was using back then but I tend to stay current and they've all been updated in the interim. I went from R12 to R13 as soon as it came out and I am on the latest build of Maxwell and the plug-in.

Cinema 13.051
Maxwell & Maxwell plug-in 2.6.10
OSX 10.6.8

Could you please provide a copy of the model and related textures/etc?

It looks to be caused by some change in hypernurbs in R13; I created a simplified version of your scene in order to compare the output from R12 and R13:

R13:

Also, not related, but the normals on the inner surface of your geometry are pointing outward; if you are going to use a glass material on this, you will likely want to point them inward.

Interesting. Thanks for looking at that. I also tried converting the HyperNurbs to a poly object last night but that didn't help. I think I'll take this up with Maxon in that case.
