Hi all,
Now with Fire enable inside C4D I found that window which pop out where you assign the texture and modify the brightness, contrast, etc, doesn`t give realtime feedback to the material preview, you have to close that window in order to see those changes, so would be great if this "limitation" can be addressed.

Hi,
Another thing that would be great would be "blur" the line between material editor and mxed in the material settings, let me explain detailed:
I use 99% linked materials as I guess everybody else and when I try to change which texture I would like to see in the vewport I have to open mxed and then select and save and see if that one is the one that I wanted to see or unlink select the texture re export and relink, so I was thinking in someway have a drop down list inside the maxwell material which read the bitmaps of the linked material and select from there the one that you want to see in the viewport.
Another idea would have a more look like standar C4D material editor without poping up any windows to make/edit mxm iside C4D and then just a sync button (C4D mxm --- Linked or Linked --- C4D mxm)
I have no idea of programming and/or coding so sorry if this is a very bestial (stupid) idea
Cheers
JC
PS. I hope this make sense

Sure, it should be possible to do that.

Could you describe more specifically what you mean -- where would the sync button be located?

If we integrate the material editor to the interface with no popup window we could have something like this, work like the linked that we have now, if a material shows a red border means not synced or changes made and if it shows a green means synced or no changes made. With this we can avoid the use of having to buttons in C4D Material editor and MXED. Everything happens without leaving C4D.

And for the Sync button could be something like this

Another approach could be like this

Thanks, I understand what you mean. There are really two main things you're showing: (a) material UI inserted into the AM, and (b) embedded material <-> MXM sync. On the first, I know it seems like it should be simple to do, but unfortunately it isn't. On the second, that is entirely possible.

Of course having a floating window is not bad at all if inserting it into the AM is complicate but the main issue for me is having to different materials editors (into C4D and MXED) so this sync could be a big step ahead for more integration with C4D, and even having an automatic sync so you do not worry about syncing all the time.
