Hi JD,
This is an fantastic update, thanks.

There are a couple of little issues that I have noticed so far (nothing critical).

1) Clicking Material trough Plugin-Cinemaxwell-Material, it's create a material without preview, but if you create the new material trough Material Manager the new material start rendering the preview.

2) Clicking trough Plugin-Cinemaxwell-Material Editor, it just pop up a blank material window.

Now moving more to a wish, in this case related with instances more specific to viewport related.
More I work with MWR instances more dificult and not stable representations I find in the viewport, for example and this is easy to recreate.

Load in a new document the Zygote child from C4D presets and make a instance of this one, you will notice this:
Image

Select display as object and drag the Zygote and you will see something like this:
Image

Load in a new document the Figure from C4D primitives and make a instance of this one, you will notice this:
Image

Select display as object and drag the Figure and you will see something like this:

I know that maybe this is going to bring so much pain in the rear, but sometimes we (I) need more precise instance display in order to create the scenes.
I found how the vrayforc4d team solve the proxies (in their case) display and I found it marvelous, here is a video link that you can check, the important part is from 03:00 to 05:00 aprox. http://vimeo.com/9425012
Would be nice to have a revamp in this area :).

Cheers

1) Thanks, I see what you mean.

2) Yes, it works like the AM: the window is blank if no material is selected. If a material is selected though, it is shown, correct?

3) I can duplicate that, but I probably will not do much work with it, since you should be using Cinema Render Instances; the plugin's Instance Object is really only being kept around for backward compatibility at this point in time.

If you select a material after that windows is poped up it shows the content of the material, but if you click on material editor after selecting a material the window is blank, here are the steps:

For the instances, the problem is that I have my oldie R10.1 and this version don't have render instances as far as I know, that's why would be nice to have an advance instance display options or maybe I'm missing some steps  . If I'm correct the render instances were introduce from version 11.x but I'm not sure.

Ah, now I've got it. So, it works fine if you:

1. double-click the material in the material manager to open the material editor
2. click the 'material editor' button in the material's AM interface

But it always opens blank if you:

3. open the material editor from the menu/toolbar.

I'll fix that.

On the instances, yes, I believe it was R11.5 which introduced Render Instances, which completely eliminated the need for this plugin ever to have supplied its Instance Object. If it were very easy to fix that display glitch, I'd do it, but I am using the bounding boxes given by Cinema; it would take alot of code, and also defeat the purpose of having a quickly-drawn Instance object if I tried to read all the topology to generate a more accurate box. I would just recommend not using the 'Auto-size' option in your Instances when the boxes it draws are not accurate.

It works as it should be.

Exactly, thanks :)

Too bad that the instances display is not a easy thing to fix , maybe someday at least the sizes of the bounding boxes could be fixed somehow :).

Thanks for your time and dedication :)
