I'm pretty sure that's Maxwell 1.7's MXED; it can't read MXMs from Maxwell 2.0.

so how do i change that path in c4d to the Maxwell 2 mxed?

The plugin uses whatever it finds in your MAXWELL2_ROOT environment variable to find maxwell.exe, studio.exe, and mxed.exe, so check that it's pointing to the right place.
