Maxwell and Bodypaint

I'm just starting to look at C4D's Bodypaint and wondering how this might work with Maxwell. Does anyone use these two apps together?

Just right off it seems like when in BP one can only use a C4D material to paint on, is that right? When I start with a Maxwell material, c4d/bp does not allow me to work with the layers to paint on like with a c4d material.

The plugin will use the BodyPaint textures you create when it translates the Cinema materials they're used in during export (so, it won't work if you're testing a Cinema demo - demos don't allow the baking of textures out to files). You can't use them directly in Maxwell materials - the textures used there already have to be on disk.

thx JD. That's the conclusion I was coming to as well when I thought about it. I've got a c4d v10.5 license so exporting them as baked textures will be no problem. I suppose that's exactly what I've already done when I've imported an obj file of a person with baked on facial and clothing textures.
