Is the plug-in compatible with R11.5?

Hey all :)

I searched the forum but was unable to find an answer. I am currently unable to load the plug-in in C4D R11.5 and I see the read me only lists R11 as a compatible program. Is it safe to assume that it is NOT compatible with R11.5 then?

Thanks
-Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

That is correct, Cinema R11.5 is not compatible with the current plugin. Its release came too late in the development cycle to switch, but I am working on it.

Cheers,

JD

No worries, I understand completely. Any ETA?
Thanks again

No, no official ETA yet - top priority right now is collecting and fixing any bugs which may be found in the new V2 plugin. As an R11.5 plugin will only be useable by R11.5 installations, I first want to make sure things are running smoothly for the greatest number of users, who are still on R9.6-R11.

Hi JD,

Any news on the 11.5 version?

Not yet - I am working on this now. I did not switch over to R11.5 work until the 2.0.5 plugin bugfix update was complete, since an R11.5 plugin will only be useful to R11.5 users; it must be a separate plugin and will not load into prior versions of Cinema.

to be honest: that Maxwell 2 is not yet supporting 11.5 is the only reason I'm not using 11.5 until now.... still working on 11 for that reason.

Ditto. They rang me to ask why I hadn't leapt on the upgrade as usual and I told them the same thing. There's a lot of great looking features in 11.5 but I need my Maxwell.

An R11.5-compatible build exists and should be distributed to testers tomorrow - if that goes well, I may post a link here for a community preview. It supports R11.5's render instance capability.

Nice to hear that!

"It supports R11.5's render instance capability"

¿Will the new plug convert they to maxwell instances?

It depends what you mean - if you use a Cinema Instance with the 'Render Instance' option enabled, it will be treated the same at export as if you had used a Maxwell Instance Object.
