Hi,
I am playing with new plug-in and (after learning that instances are not compatible with motion blur [will that change?]). I have run into problem:

It is cool to have a lot of geometry free in Maxwell but Layout still need to handle is somehow (if clones are converted to instances). Is there any workaround to handle that easily?)

Did you try the instancer functionality in the latest plug-in?

Does it do that in a specific scene, or every time you try to use it, even in simple scenes? What do you mean it aborts? Does Maxwell crash or does it print an error message? Did you try exporting the MXS file and opening it in Studio, to see how it looks?

I can't help you if all you give me is "it doesn't work".

i can see the instances in layout so it seems to work .....but the render aborted in every scene i tried till now
sorry but what else can i say ?
abort means that mawell render open but close before it start voxealitation (sorry dont remember how to write it)
the scene is a a cube with instanced chairs ... i put the instancers in the property panel of the cube and set it to instance the chair.. thats it

sometimes maxwelll make voxalitation and then abort and says
ERROR: - Instances of emitters are not supported.
EERROR: - Render FailedRROR: - Data preprocess failed. Render cannot continue

but there are no emiiter in the scene

maybe i do something wrong .. can u esplain the procedure

since the tester dont have time i tested it myself with a very simple scene

i discover that it doesnt support more than a material for layer because i tried a very simple scene with a plan in a layer and a cube in an another layer and it worked
i added in the layer of the cube another cube with a differente material and it aborted again,
after assigned again the same material to the cubes it started working again

maxweel instancer seems not support more than a material for layer, so i woudl say it work very badly
i tried even subdividing the chair in one layer for each material and putting a instance of each layer in the panel property of the plane, but it doesnt red more tha one maxell instance per layer

This is a known engine bug in Maxwell 2.0.3, it has been discussed several times on the main forum. It will be fixed in 2.0.4.
