help: what is the best setting for viewport?

using 2016. cannot understand which renderer is the best to use in the viewport:
viewport 2 will not show Maxwell materials correctly, and will not show MXS references.
legacy will show those, but will get geometry broken to triangles that show part material-part black...
legacy high quality will not show geometry at all.
Maxwell shows just black viewport.
what am I missing? I've just upgraded my system to Maxwell 3 and this is the main problem I face.

thanks, however already tried that. still viewport is not functioning the way I expect it to - esp. with a 4 GB quadro card. to my eyes it appears as maya cannot "translate" maxwell's materials the way it does with phongs etc.
