Hi there,

I encountered a problem with Maya 2015 and maxwell material. For example, I build a poly-sphere with an lambert Maxwell material, which has a texture assigned to it (in Reflectance 0). When I render the sphere like it is, everything is fine. But when I smooth the sphere via clicking the 3 button (smooth quality display mode) the texture won't render. If I perform a real smooth (Mesh - Smooth) everything is fine again. Anybody knows a solution for this?

Hi,

Do you have multiple materials assigned to the object? There's a limitation in the Maya API which makes the plug-in unable to retrieve the correct face -> material mapping for smoothed objects with multiple materials; however, if you have a single material applied to the entire mesh, smoothing should work correctly. Could you send me a simple test scene which shows the problem at mihnea.balta@gmail.com?
