This behaviour refers to the Interactive Rendering mode and Fire.
This happens with cameras with an offset value other than zero.
These camera settings are usefull for architectural corrected perspectives where the vertical lines shows paralel in the image.

Fire or the Interactive Rendering mode shows an offset diferent from the offset shown in the default Maya viewports as well as the final rendered image by maxwell.

These diferences are not constant from machine to machine, specially if the monitors are different proportions and sizes, as it can be seen in the screen captures.

I wonder if this is a problem in V2 only or a problem also found in V3?

This could happen if your shift amount is larger than the film size. Could you send me a simplified scene which reproduces the problem?

I've noticed it too.
Since FIRE's window is not always the same proportions as the camera's, it can happen.
e.g. you have a scene with a 1.33 camera ratio and than another scene with 2, FIRE's window is not re-sizing and the error occurs.
