Maya 2014 will be released next week. Do we need a new Maxwell plugin or will the old one work with Maya 2014?

Maya plug-ins are never compatible with newer versions, so we'll release an update with support for 2014 as soon as possible.

No problem. By the time the Maya 2014 downloads complete the plugin will be out.

The plug-in for 2014 is now available (with a few nice new features and bug corrections) : really glad it is available so close to the release of Maya 2014 !
