Have been going crazy for two days trying to figure out why I couldn't get vector displacement maps to work. This first post in this thread http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... splacement has a test file (maya) and sure enough it works. The only difference I could find was that I was always using referenced mxm files and in this test the materials are embedded.

So I exported one of the working materials from this test file, and then tried to use it as a referenced mxm -> FAIL
Next I tried checking the "Embed in mxs" option on the referenced material -> WORKS

So is this a bug or a feature?
