Hi,

I am using Maya 2012 on MAC with MaxwellRender 2.6.1 and the latest Maya plugin. Rendering a single frame within Maya by clicking on the render the current frame "MaxwellRender" is working fine "SUN is enable", but when I export the animation "MXS" and try to open it in the render application "setting the amount of frames" I get the below error.

ERROR: - There are no light sources in the scene (emitters, sky, IBL). The render will be black.

ERROR: - Render Failed

I appreciate your help regarding this matter.

Thanks,
Abed

Could you send me a Maya scene which reproduces the problem at mihnea.balta@gmail.com?

Hi Mihnea,

I have sent zipped files to your e-mail as requested so you can check them out.

Thanks!

Thanks for the scene. I've checked it now and it seems to render fine here. How do you export your frames? Did you use file->export? Can you also send me one of the MXS files which produces the error?

I think your question solved the problem. I was using the Maxwell Plugin export geometry to MXS, and for some reason it is still not working for animation. I tried the Maya export and it worked fine. Is it a bug?

Thanks,
Abed

Oh, do you mean the export button from the shelf? That's for creating MXS references; it only exports geometry and materials, no environment or render settings. It's mentioned in the manual here, but perhaps it needs to be made clearer.

Oooops! Sorry, I think I am working a lot these days and I am not reading at all.
Thanks and I am sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you.
