Maxwell won´t render imported geometry

when having an imported obj geometry in the scene it does not render properly. Meaning the texture will not render as it does geometry allready modelled within the maye scene.

See image for a quick and dirty example. The brown stuff should be like the boards on the sphere ....

Any ideas on what causes this, and how to fix it ?

Thanks

What kind of material do you have on that object? Is it the same material as on the sphere, or a different material with the same texture? Does Maya software render that object correctly? What happens if you assign a new Maxwell material on the object and render?

Yes. Both objects have the same material. A maxwell layered material, arrowway boards. This occurs consistently with imported geometry.

Assigning new material, like other boards, create similar result...

two more examples :

This is a new maya scene. cube on the left is created in maya. Geometry to the right is imported obj.

It looks like the object doesn't have UVs, or they're wrong. What happens if you apply a simple lambert with the boards texture on the color attribute, and render with Maya software?

yes that´s it. Thanks.

I´m used to exporting out from rhino, which just works. Never any problem with objs...

This other program though also creates a mtl file, and as you pointed out, messes up the uv´s.

Now I got it fixed, thanks !
