Plugin launches well, FIRE works well, but unable to render

Dear All,

On one particular Maya scene only
whenever I launch it I get the error:

setParent Object maxwellTabLayout not found

I ignore it because Maxwell FIRE starts fine but when I render
the script editor indicates that the scene has been exported
to Maxwell but Maxwell render fails to start.

If you export the scene manually to MXS then render it from
Maxwell all goes well.

What could the problem be? What does the error message indicate.

Regards
El

The errors are unrelated. The first one comes from trying to display the render globals UI. Does that work correctly? Is the Maxwell plug-in set to autoload?

The second problem comes from the plug-in not being able to find Maxwell. Make sure either maxwell.app or studio.app is associated with MXS files.

Hi Mihnea,

I can't see any problem with the UI at the moment.
I think the Maxwell suite is associated with MXS files
because this problem is associated with one Maya
scene only. The scene was rendering out to Maxwell
fine and then one day this problem started.

If I create a new scene with new objects everything
goes according to plan. Maxwell renders out from
the Maya plugin as usual.

The scene must be corrupted somehow but I have
no clue where.

Sorry Mihnea

The problem disappeared as mysteriously as it came up.
Suffered it for a week now but everything is working fine again.
Murphy's law !
