Animation Export Problem-Frame Numbering?

Hi,

Does anyone have any tips on exporting animation sequences with specific frame numbering? At the moment, the only way I can export an animation sequence is >File>Export All. (The batch render does nothing when launched???) When I do this the exported frames are simply named / numbered 1,2,3 etc. (with no zeros in front). The secondary problem is when I launch MXCL/network manager Maxwell does not recognised the full sequence. It will render frames #1 to #9 and then look for frame #0 instead of frame #10. (This error stops the rendering sequence). So does anyone know how to export the frames like; 0001.mxs, 0002.mxs, 0003.mxs etc?

Cheers, Peter

The exported MXS files should follow the same name format that you use for output images. Set the "Frame/Animation ext" field in the render globals to "name#.ext", the padding to 5 digits and you should get a sequence of files that works with Maxwell.

There's a problem with the batch render function in Maya 2011 which we've fixed already. We'll release a plug-in update as soon as possible.

Thanks Mihnea, I now know what "frame padding means". Success!
