I'm launching a batch render from Maya.

I'm rendering tiffs. Why are my alphas defaulting to PNG?

Where within Maya can I specify otherwise?

(I am letting the renders go. I don't see any problem with png alphas, but I would like to know wher in Maya the control for that is)

Maxwell used to always render extra channels to PNG because some of them need 16-bit precision and the color channel format doesn't always provide it (e.g. BMP, JPG etc.). This has changed in 2.0.3 and it's now possible to control the format for each channel independently, but the functionality hasn't been exposed in the Maya plug-in yet.

Since it defaults to 16-bit precision PNG I'm happy enough for now.

Thanks for the info.
