Hey guys, currently having a HDRI problem and was wondering if anybody has encountered similar and could help in any way.

I have been handed a couple of Dosch hi-res HDRI to use as a background environment for a model im working on but they are either the vertical cross or the horizontal cross varient.

This means that for me, when rendering, desite having selected spherical mapping, large blue patches are visable in the Maxwell render, and within Mayas environment preview.....

Is there anything i can do to get rid of these blue patches in order to make it a seamless 360 image surrounding the model? Or is the only way achieve this is to acquire the actual spherical map format from my employer?

Thank you in advance

Simon

Thank you very much for the reply, i have heard of HDR shop however by the looks of the website version 2 isn't free software and purchasing a license is not in my power.

Is there no way that Maya could handle a conversion from a horizontal/vertical cross HDRI to a full 360 spherical map itself?
