high-quality hardware preview and rendered output way off

The first version of the Maxwell Maya plug-in did a great job of getting accurate results for the hardware preview but the latest one is way off. The returned renders are much darker. Is this a known bug or am I not enabling something? here's an example:

hmm - my mistake. I just installed an older version of the plug-in and it's the same problem. What am I doing wrong all of a sudden? Is this a problem with Maxwell 2.0.1's tone mapping changes?

It's a know issue and the Max plugin has it as well. We'll try to fix it for the next update.
