I continue the tests and there's another question: I try to use the MXM gallery but I'm logged in automatically and cannot change the destionation d-l path. how can I change it?

The plug-in forces all the files to be downloaded to sourceimages, otherwise Maya wouldn't be able to find the textures. Usually, MXM files contain paths that were relevant on the computer where they were created (like d:\projects\my texture pack\wood.jpg) but don't exist on your computer.

Maxwell allows you to set the download path (start MXED and go to file->preferences->mxm gallery). We can add an option in a future plug-in build to use that directory if it's set instead of sourceimages, if you find it more useful.

thanx. in my PC it d-l to "C:\Users\FireGL 1\AppData\Local\Temp\mxmgallery\mxmdownloads" ...
I was hoping it will go to the sourceimages project folder, like every time I do "set project" it will affect it.

That's where the files are downloaded, but they are moved to sourceimages after the download is done. Doesn't it do that on your computer? Does the path to your sourceimages directory contain non-ascii characters?

I think I know what's going on. Under some circumstances, the method I use for getting the sourceimages path doesn't work. It will be fixed in the next plug-in update. In the mean time, you could try setting the project folder explicitly with File -> Project -> Set (point it to the directory where you already have the project).

thanx, that's what I did... if not working automatically when I do this maybe a simple solution for the coders will be to add an option in the matt. attrib. box
