Hi guys,
I've been away from Maxwell for a while but I have used Maxwell 2 in Maya 2010 on this computer. In any case, I just updated to the latest version of Maxwell and the latest plugin for Maya (OS X). When I make the *simplest* of scenes (starring plane and sphere, of course) and hit render, a BLANK Maya render window pops up and that's it -- no maxwell render window... So, I went back to a previous scene that I was working on about 3 months ago, that didn't render either... I'm at a total loss here... all suggestions welcome!
Thanks so much!
Jep
EDIT: I just tried doing material previews to see if I got any errors -- sure enough, I can't even get a material preview to work. I get this error:
// Error: Cannot render preview for material 'maxwellLayeredMaterial22': cannot read back rendered image.
I double checked the path in Window->Render Settings-> Maxwell and the path to the defaultmaterial.mxs is correct. I know it must be something so obvious!!!!
EDIT 2 -- SOLVE: My issue was related to a 3rd party Finder plug-in named Total Finder (great little plugin -- no harm meant to the folks that make it) For some reason it was keeping Maya 2010 from spawning the Maxwell Render window. I uninstalled Total Finder completely and now Maxwell and Maya 2010 are working just fine.
