Particle Systems Supported?

Do any of the basic particle systems work in 3ds Max? I've tried the snow and blizzard (I'm trying to get some easy snow into 3ds Max to test in-engine vs visual fx), but neither seem to show.
Short of making a proxy and painting my own flake design around, is there another way to achieve this?

All the particle systems should work. I've just tested blizzard and snow now to check if some bug was introduced that broke support for them, but they work fine. Which Max version and plug-in version are you using? Can you send me a test scene where the particles don't show in the render? (

Yup, you are correct. I opened the scene again this morning and voila: it works now. Weird, but I was probably doing something stupid like working on a hidden layer or something. Oh well.
