I also just installed my 3ds max Design 2012.
Does anyone know when typically we can expect a plugin for 3ds max 2012 to be available?
Will it possible work with the current max plugin? (I dont want to install it if it ruins something in my setup)

The current plug-in won't work in 2012. An updated plug-in will be released next week.

I heared about a lot of bugs from other forums with max 2012 like viewport laggs and the usual stuff.

3dsmax notified new version is available, but when I click to download, there are no file.

The installer was accidentally uploaded as a zip file to the autoupdate location. The link in the update dialog points to the exe. You can change exe to zip in the URL after the browser says it cannot be found, or, as you said, you can get it from the download portal.
