Maxwell Render | Official public forum

I am finding that with this release it crashes Max 2011 (i'm not currently using Maxwell renderer - so even without assigning maxwell as the renderer, i find that it crashes 3dsMax - im currently using vray). I uninstalled 2.5.8, reinstalled 2.5.6 and the problem seems to go away. So, to be clear, I installed the new version, opened 3dsMax 2011 and within a few seconds (without doing anything) Max crashes. Tried it several times and tried different versions of the file. Going back to 2.5.6 solves the problem

We can't reproduce this here. Do you have any other plug-ins installed, besides Vray and Maxwell?

When Max crashes, it produces a crash dump file called 3dsmax_minidump.dmp in your temp directory (C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\Temp). Can you please send it to me at mihnea.balta@gmail.com?

plugins include RPC, Vray, Fryrender. I will send you the dmp file when i get back to the office. Thx

I installed the Plugin on my laptop at home and i get the same crash - opening a recent project that uses vray. Here is a link to the DMP file (compressed with 7-z)

I believe there is something about that scene (it uses vray 2.0) that causes a crash when the latest plugin is installed. I dont have a problem opening that scene with the older Maxwell plugin. however, i dont seem to have a problem with the new maxwell plugin and another scene that i am currently working on...
