Crash with activeshade

When I use fire in MAX Design 2011 and Win7 64bit and use one of the 4 viewports as activeshade, I have to press Space to see the toolbar with the save button... Then, Max crashes often.
When I have the activeshade viewport floating, no problem.
I guess this has something to do with Max but can anyone confirm this behaviour?

When Max crashes it makes a file named 3dsmax_minidump.dmp in your %temp% directory. Can you please send it to me? bogdan.coroi@gmail.com
Make sure to get the file right after Max crashes.

I have the same problem with Max 2011 64bit and Fire. Quite often, when i try to use activeshade (fire) it just crashes Max. so, what is the workaround ?

Can you send me your 3dsmax_minidump.dmp file as well, so we can debug it? Thanks.

Thanks. I'll have a look and let you know if there's a workaround.

Unfortunately there's no workaround. It's a FIRE core crash, not a plug-in issue. Do you remember what were you doing in Max when you got the crash? Can you reproduce it? Can you send me a scene file so we can debug it further?

Here is a link to the scene - nothing special about the scene - its almost "empty". All i did was to switch on Activeshade. It then starts voxelisation, but then it just crashes. Its happens every time with this scene - maybe my computer has a problem & thats why it crashes?

Thanks for the scene. I played with it using a default standard Max material applied on all objects and everything was fine (Max 2011 32bit). Could I ask you to try the same and see if it still crashes? If it's not crashing I might have to ask you for the missing scene assets, because they might be the root of this crash. Thanks!

I tried that - and yes, it prevents the crash. Then, keeping it all one material, I turned back on the HDRI for image based lighting - and that makes it crash again

I have replaced your "D:\Assets\HDRI\Abstractball_01.hdr" from the Illumination channel with my own hdr image and still couldn't crash it. I don't think it's your HDR file that crashes it, but you never know. So could I ask you to send it to me?

Also, if I fail to crash it with your hdr file, here's is a list of all missing assets. If you have time zip them up and send them to me, it would be great. Thanks again!

PS. To make it simple, try to export the scene with File->Export (select Maxwell scene file) and there will be a checkbox asking you to make a Pack'n'Go export, which means it will export all assets in one place, without having to grab them by hand.
