use max instancing & object id channel

here's a dumbed down example... pretty straight forward.

Use 3dsmax Instancing - On/Checked:

Are you sure a material is being assigned to the instances? Maybe when they are counted as instances, a default material is applied?

yeah, i checked that. but "material id" channel isn't affected in this manner (even if a material isn't applied to anything). it's only the object id that seems to get botched when the instancing option is checked.

not a big deal (for me at least). just thought i'd drop it here to see if this was some sort of error on my part. thanks.
