There's a bug in Maxwell when the path to the image file contains dots. In that case, additional channels are not written to disk. If the path doesn't contain dots, rendering should produce a PNG file with the "_alpha" suffix in the same directory as your color channel image, e.g. if your color image is "c:\images\interior.tga", you should also get "c:\images\interior_alpha.png".

If you absolutely must have dots in the output path, you can tick the "embed alpha" checkbox in the Maxwell render options and the alpha channel will be included in the output image (assuming that the image format supports 4 channels, e.g. TGA).

is there no workaround for the bug? all my path inclide a dot by default
is it maxwell itself or the .dlr with the bug ?

The bug is in Maxwell itself. It's already fixed internally so the next Maxwell update will work correctly.
