Maxwell 5 on the number plate ...... hope for there sake its better than 4 . Not that we will find out in modoland anyhow.

Wow .....cant tell you how sad that is for me to hear .Honestly though I fully lay the blame at however decided to price v4 upgrade costs (why was upgrading nodes cheaper for a new user to buy than me upgrading mine?) coupled with the launching it in a not fit for purpose state bearing in mind it wa...
ok this is now fixed
but now looking at this why is it 189.50 euros for for 10 nodes for a current user , where as for a new user its 95 euro's ?
Just thought I'd check the price for me.Logged in no upgrades available to me either ..... only option is to go to the store and pay the same as a new user.(I dont think i'll do that)
nice to know my years of purchasing support have been appreciated
V4 it's just V3 with gpu and some changes in the interface And you can open scenes created with V4 in V3 So there is no new features. I hope they read all requests pfffft lol ..... Well that just about sums it up Seghier I'm not upgrading for now( do appreciate your honesty btw) . £750 for me to ke...
anyone know whats happening here? .... it was one of the reasons I went with indie to not have to learn another engine
Sorry for the very late reply Tom .... busy elsewhere... I did solve my issue at the time . It was due to using full trans 255 white trying to do a boolean lowering the colour value solved it and got it working. Why is that ? i see this has been discussed here as well http://www.maxwellrender.com/fo...
just want to check if this is user error on my part or not , but I cant get this to work on this build.
But it seems to be a bug on certain situations. that makes it seem like this doesn't happen very often tbh , maybe I'm looking at this wrong :o (this is with 3.2.1.5) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4834896/fresprob.jpg That's just a standard plastic for me(or it was) ... e.g rough bottom layer...
I can also reproduce this outside of maxwell in another engine. Also using an additive approach, which leaves a quandary. How exactly are we supposed to create energy conserving materials in maxwell that also display the correct fresnel properties but at the same time avoid this issue? which to be fa...
hopefully that works
just change the material on the plane (already in the mxs... options are additive, coating ,normal ,normal 5050)
@gmenzel this is why I was asking for the torus scene mxs ...... and not the sofa mxs
Thats the point I was trying to make before though in that coatings don't seem to give the full fresnel effect in maxwell. Maxwell's own coating component is physically correct in at least the sense that it doesn't cause light amplification. I haven't used the coating component much though, because...
In trying to replicate that scene I linked , a coating also does not replicate it gmenzel( used a 75000 nm coating with 1.5 ior force fresnel) . It never gets bright enough at the horizon edge, where as additive matches completely ( 1.5 ior force fresnel ) . Is it just the bright edge of fresnel yo...
the only way I can correctly mimic the effect shown on the link is to use additive as shown earlier on in this thread with Jason's video link. https://support.solidangle.com/download/attachments/25363362/pepe-reflectance.gif?version=1&modificationDate=1459928020000&api=v2 It looks like a synthetic ...
